Dr. Takayuki Ando of the Department of General Medicine, Keio University School of Medicine, Has Received the Hinohara Award from the Japan Primary Care Association

At the 14th Annual Meeting of the Japan Primary Care Association, held in Nagoya from May 12–14, 2023, Dr. Takayuki Ando of the Department of General Medicine, Keio University School of Medicine, received the Hinohara Award for his presentation, “The Impact of Care Fragmentation on All-Cause Mortality, Prescriptions, and Medical Costs Among Independent Older Adults.”

This award was established to honor the achievements of Dr. Shigeaki Hinohara, and recognizes the highest-quality clinical research among the next generation of young researchers who will lead the development of research in the field of primary care.

安藤先生は、慶應義塾と川崎市が共同で実施している川崎元気高齢者研究(Kawasaki Aging & Wellbeing Project)のデータを解析し、複数の医療機関の通院によるケアの分断が外来医療費の増加やポリファーマシーの発生と関連することを示し、さらに多疾患併存患者ではその併存疾患の数によって死亡率への影響が異なることを示しました。安藤先生の研究は、超高齢化社会における医療制度の設計において重要なエビデンスとなることが期待されます。
